Lucian, the Purifier, a highly mobile attack damage carry, will be the newest addition to the League of Legends.
Lucian's abilities are as follows:
Passive - Lightslinger
After using one of his abilities, Lucian’s next auto attack shoots twice.
Q Spell - Piercing Light
Shoots a bolt of light through a target, damaging enemies in a line.
W Spell - Ardent Blaze
Fires a shot that explodes in a star pattern and marks targets. Shooting marked targets deals extra damage and grants Lucian a short burst of speed.
E Spell - Relentless Pursuit
Lucian dashes a short distance and removes all slowing effects. Relentless Pursuit’s cooldown resets if The Culling kills an enemy champion.
R Spell - The Culling
Lucian moves freely while firing rapidly in a single direction, dealing damage to the first enemy hit.
It would appear that Lucian's abilities focus on high mobility and burst damage. With fast rotation between spells and auto attacks he will be able to maximize his damage due to his passive. In addition his passive allows Lucian to take double benefits of effects such as Lifesteal and win trades with enemy champions.
Meanwhile Piercing Light and the mark of Ardent Blaze give him the opportunity to nuke targets quickly, while the movement speed increase of Ardent Blaze and dashing with Relentless Pursuit will give him the opportunity to close gaps or disengage from combat. In addition Lucian will be able to move during the channeling of his ultimate which would allow for better positioning during team fights.
