t7h beats FatK in HonCast Tournament VI

Take it to the house defeats Fat Kids Lag IRL in the HonCast Tournament VI Grand Finals, picking up one of the final qualifying spots.

HoNCast has the VOD up, so follow the link at the end of the news post if you want to see it in action, otherwise, here's the match report:

Fat Kids Lag IRL (FatK) vs Take it to the house (B0SS/t7h)
Match ID: 3503568

These are the bans: bans.jpg No surprises whatsoever. At the moment, these heroes are constantly banned in every top game, with only very few variations. Perhaps this is a sign of some balance changes needed?

Picks are pretty standard the well, the interesting choices being Chronos and Scout, the rest being pretty standard. Chronos is a fun hero to see played, and Scout is of course a great carry held down by his reputation as pubstar's number one choice.

Plague Rider goes top to babysit Scout, who's going to have a rough time against Slither and Soul Reaper. Forsaken Archer is mid against Defiler, and Soulstealer/Glacius is up against Demented Shaman babysitting Chronos.

Scout places an electric eye in the forest early on, and catches a Ward of Sight placed by FatK, wasting 100g just like that. At the 2-minute mark, Forsaken Archer picks up an Invisibility rune and goes straight to the top lane, hoping to set up a gank. Hellbourne plays it passive though, so nothing comes of it, and Defiler gets some free farm for that.

The game starts pretty slow, but at the 4-minute mark Demented Shaman goes a bit too close to SS/Glacius and ends up getting auto-attacked down and finished off with a nice double-Demon Hand combo.

The next rune is again an Invisibility rune, and this one is picked up by Defiler. She goes to the top lane, and together with Scout takes out Slither. As soon as Slither respawns, he teleports bottom to try to get a gank off, and although Glacius gets quite low, so do Chronos, and both teams back off. Once Slither leaves it doesn't take many minutes before Demented Shaman overextends himself again, and he gets caught by Glacius and Soulstealer's deadly double-Demon Hand combos, and dies. Chronos shows off his balls of steel by staying in there, getting Soulstealer down low, but 1v2 there's nothing he can do, and he Time Leaps away at the very last second.

There's a one-for-one kill up in top lane a few minutes later, a Marksman Shot and a Plague Rider Contagion followed by Scout autoattacks taking out Slither, but Plague Rider goes down to the dots and a Judgement from Soul Reaper. At the 9:30 mark Forsaken Archer and Defiler clash in mid, and FA has luck on her side, escaping with 15hp.

At the 10-minute mark, Plague Rider sneaks down bottom and opens up on Chronos. His level 3 rewind (already at level 6) saves him a lot of punishment, and he gets a Chronofield off on Glacius and picks him off, but then dies to the onslaught of Soulstealer and Plague Rider. They then turn around to chase down Demented Shaman who got the killing blow on Glacius, and another nice Demon Hand again kills poor Cytraz, playing Shaman this game. While all this is going on, t7h also denies top tower, giving them a strong earlygame lead, with 6-2 kills.

t7h tries for a mid tower kill at the 12:30 mark, with Glacius making use of an Invisibility rune to try ganking Forsaken Archer with Defiler. Forsaken Archer again escapes with two digit HP, but the tower drops easily with Defiler's ultimate used. Plague Rider hasn't come back to top since he left, which has successfully given Scout a good bit of solo farm, both gold and experience wise - Dewiz playing Scout like you're supposed to, farming as much as possible until you're a beast, not wasting time running around the map trying to gank in teamfights with your weak early-game.

About a minute later, we see a dodge and juke from Soulstealer, caught in the Legion forest after an aborted teamfight, Bleek's SS dodging both a Crippling Volley from Forsaken Archer as well as a Spray from Slither, and then rounding the forest and Portal Keying north, getting off scot free in what could have been a very lethal position. FatK complains about the delay. Being a european team playing on a US server, they have a valid point.

At the 16-minute mark, Legion pushes bottom tower, with an invisible Soulstealer hiding behind them. As Hellbourne moves to defend, Chronos initiates with his Time Leap-Chronofield combo, catching Plague Rider, Defiler AND Glacius in it. Forsaken uses her ultimate in the same area, and the Hellbourne team is dropping dangerously fast. Simultaneously, however, Soulstealer opens up with some well-placed Demon Hands, getting most of the Legion team low, and then unleashes his ultimate, which in combination with Plague Rider's ultimate takes out most of the Legion team.

Only Forsaken Archer and Chronos is left standing, and forsaken Archer turns right around and chases down SS and kills him dead, leaving the results of the teamfight 4-3 in Legion's favor. The only player still standing for the Hellbourne is Scout, who still stays away from teamfights, just farming farming farming. He has his Runed Axe now at the 17-minute mark, and takes out top tower all on his own, bringing his gold/minute up over the 300 mark. A minute later he finishes Ghost Marchers as well.

And if a farmed Scout wasn't bad enough for the Legion team, Soulstealer is getting some incredible kills. Shortly before the 20-minute mark, Hellbourne counter-pushes mid, this time with Scout helping out. An Ice Imprisonment/Plague Carrier combo takes out Soul Reaper as Scout opens up on Demented Shaman. Slither uses his ultimate, but a double-damage rune Defiler and a portal key initiation from Soulstealer who uses his ultimate to take out the already weakened Demented Shaman and Forsaken Archer turns the fight around. Slither and Chronos can do nothing but back off, as Chronos doesn't have his mana for Chronofield, which is not the first time in this game he loses out on that after a Time Leap in. Slither stays too long and gets killed with a Wave of Death from Defiler and an auto-attack from Soulstealer, who is now sitting at 9-1 kills and a Shrunken Head.

Legion picks off Soulstealer and Glacius down in the Legion forest at the 22:30-mark, which is desperately needed, Chronos getting some gold, and stopping Soulstealer's farm. Chronos finally picks up his Runed Axe, so he's on the fast track to some greater farm. An Elder Parasite on him now, and Legion might still have a chance.

Right after doing that, Scout decides to even it out, and takes out first Slither by himself, then catches Chronos unaware, using his insane burst, opening up from Vanish, getting a few crits from Disarm, and then finishing off poor Chronos with a Marksman Shot. And people say Scout's a bad hero.

Hellbourne wants to end this now while they have the advantage, and starts pushing the base at the 25-minute mark. They take out the base tower without any strong defense, but then they overextend themselves a bit and starts fighting inside the base. Legion puts up a strong defense, taking out both carries in Scout and Soulstealer as well as Glacius, but the damage is already done, they lose every hero except Chronos. Chronos then chases down Plague Rider, but underestimates the strength of dead Soulstealer's illusions, and dies. GENOCIDE.

frozenscout.jpgThe barracks are still standing, but Hellbourne is dominating. They get a Kongor kill at the 28-minute mark, putting the token on Scout. t7H is very confident at this point, enough so that Glacius freezes his own teammate Scout and steals the bottom tower kill.

All it takes is one final push from t7H, who get another Genocide and FatK concede.

For whatever reason, (lag, depression, anger, whatever) FatK decides to forfeit the second game, so this Grand Finals is over in just one game. Well played, Take it to the House.
