Over the last twelve weeks, Deck Wars has been a constant form of entertainment for the Hearthstone fans. Popular players from all parts of the world were invited to battle in a showmatch and now the season commences with a Final showdown.
What originally started as a series of showmatches between the most known Hearthstone players in the world will have its Season 1 Final event over this weekend. The Deck Wars series with ChanmanV has been widely acclaimed as one of the premier sources of entertainment every week for a while now. Carrying over that momentum, the season will end with a big showcase featuring twelve winners of the weekly editions. That long list includes accomplished players like the ESGN Fight Night veterans ek0p, Savjz, monk, Strifecro, Forsen, Chakki and ThatsAdmirable, but also popular Hearthstone personalities like Kungen.
All this star power has gathered to play for the total prize pool of $1,500 USD, of which the lion's share of $1,000 USD will go to the account of the Season 1 Deck Wars Champion. Whoever will get the title has to fight through plenty of matches to get their, seeing that the event will be held in three different stages.
The start will be a "play-in" round, in which every player faces off with a randomly drawn opponent. The winner of these Best-of-Five matches gets a seed in the second round, essentially cutting the player pool in half.
Those who are left standing will now be in one of two groups, battling against the two other members of their group for valuable points. Only the winner of each group will move along, the rest will bite the dust and see their tournament life go down the drain.
In the end, the two battle-tested warriors coming out of the group stage will meet in the conclusion of the tournament - a Bo7 grand final face-off.
All 13 matches of the tournament will be streamed and broadcast over the airwaves of Machinima on Twitch with the normal casting duo of ChanmanV and koyuki0 bringing the competitive insight to the mix.
