Kungen Sweeps Trump For Deck Wars #1

The first edition of the new Showmatch format by ChanManV and Machinima has crowned it's very first champion. The Swedish WoW star Kungen lived up to his name and is the first King of Deck Wars.

The highly anticipated start of Showmatch series Deck Wars had its moments with great production and post-editing, while ChanManV and Koyuki also added flavor with the cast - it fell short with the match excitement, though. Against all odds, former WoW star Kungen demolished the "Major of Value Town" Trump in three straight matches, crowing himself the first King of "Deck Wars"

Starting off with a Control Druid deck Kungen clawed his way through every single deck of the popular Arena streamer from the States. With great draws to start the game, some risky decisions of Trump and overall good play, Kungen solidified himself as a capable competitor in the circuit.

Two of the three games were fairly one-sided, except for the opener in which Trump went for a more greedy play and did not clear a single unit off the board, which caused him to lose. Before that Trump seemingly had the upper hand in the match and was looking to take home the game, but a topdeck [card]Cenarius[/card] onto a board with four creatures gave Kungen the momentum he needed. After that Trump tried a more rush oriented Murloc deck as a Warlock, but found himself getting swiped off the board on Turn 3 and then running into the strong [card]Druid of the Claw[/card] taunts afterwards.

The American was then left to his Control Warrior deck featuring a [card]Gadgetzan Auctioneer[/card] as a twist, but couldn't really build up any momentum or card advantage. Co-caster Koyuki also pointed out a questionable decision between Turn 6 and 7, in which Trump opted for a [card]Sylvanas Windrunner[/card] instead of cycling through his board with plenty of low-cost spells and the Coin still left in his hand. After that, he tried a variation of that play two turns afterwards, but couldn't recover anymore against the stacked board of Kungen.

Kungen walks away not only with some doubters and haters probably silenced, but also with $40 USD more to his name. The Swedish King will now be sidelined, just as Trump will be, for the new editions of "Deck Wars" that will be shown next Friday at 11 PM CET on the Twitch channel of Machinima. This time it will be the Finnish star Savjz against three-time Legendary player Reynad from the United States of America.
