Do you remember any non-Korean winning a major Korean TV tournament? There are only 2. The one is the Canadian Grrr.... The other is the Norwegian Slayer.
Slayer won the KBK2000 tournament. Many of you might have seen the documentary that was on Norwegian television about his trip to Korea, called Alias:Slayer. In this movie you can spot Grrr...., NTT and there's even an interview with Maynard. A lot of the movie is in Norwegian though.

Recently over at the Meet Your Makers website Carnac did an interview with Slayer. It appears he, as many others, has started playing poker instead of BroodWar. The last time i remember Slayer playing BroodWar was at the Nordic prelims for WCG in San Francisco. That time he was stopped in the semifinal by mYm.StinGer, who lost in the final to Eriador. The interview focuses a bit much on poker sadly, but there are some interesting bits.
Since we are already talking about Progaming right now: do you think the professional way of playing games like Starcraft in Korea will get a chance to establish itself in western countries/europe on a short to midterm
I have no precise idea of what is going on in the business so it is hard for me to reayll answer that in depth, but I think it will happen eventually. It will take a while though.
My thoughts exactly. Anyway, after having basically disappeared from the scene you made a short comeback for the Norwegian WCG 2004 and ended up third. Sadly there was no Norwegian WCG qualification in 2005. Would you have competed had there been one and more importantly this year's upcoming WCG will be in Monza, Italy. Will you try to play? Or do you really have quit for good?
WCG 2004 was definitely my last tournament, Starcraft is simply way too time consuming when it is played at a high level.

We wish Slayer the best of luck in the future and still hold out a little hope that WCG Italy might tempt him for a comeback.
