CD Projekt Red issued a public warning to fans regarding fake invitations to The Witcher 4's beta test, and clarified that no such tests exist.
CD Projekt Red recently issued a public warning about fake invitations to a beta test for The Witcher 4 circulating via email and social media. These invitations claim to offer early access to the game. The studio clarified that no such beta test exists, as the game is still in its early development stages.
In a statement shared on its official social media channels, CD Projekt Red emphasised, "Recently, we've been getting reports from some community members that they've been invited to a beta test of The Witcher 4—this is a scam!" The studio urged fans to report these fraudulent messages, and assured them that any legitimate beta tests in the future would be announced exclusively through its official platforms.
The developer also reminded players that professional monster slayers don't fall for scams; they see right through them and take action. It also advised fans to always verify the authenticity of any offers or invitations by checking official sources. It urged fans to follow its official social media and websites to hear about any future beta tests, if one is ever organised.
The Witcher 4 is the newest iteration of the Witcher franchise, first announced by CD Projekt Red at The Game Awards 2024. The game will feature a new protagonist: a grown-up Ciri, Geralt's protegee and a Witcher. The trailer at The Game Awards 2024 featured Ciri, who defeated a monster that a nearby village was making sacrifices to.
Currently, The Witcher 4 has no official release date, and no beta test has been announced for the game.
