The latest Street Fighter 6 crossover character is almost here.
Capcom has released a new trailer for Street Fighter 6’s latest DLC character: Mai Shiranui from the Fatal Fury fighting game series. The crossover character brings her own unique moveset to the game, inspired by her previous appearances in Fatal Fury and other SNK fighting games, with a touch of Street Fighter 6’s own mechanics.
Mai will launch in Street Fighter 6 on February 5, 2025.
Fatal Fury x Street Fighter 6: Mai Shiranui release date announced
Last year, Capcom announced that Street Fighter 6 was getting four new DLC characters: M. Bison, Terry Bogard, Mai Shiranui and Elena. Of the four, Terry and Mai are crossover characters from Fatal Fury – though they have also appeared in other franchises, like King of Fighters and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (in Terry’s case, at least).
They’re also the first crossover characters Street Fighter has ever had, making Mai’s addition to the game something of a historic moment. Mai is coming to Street Fighter 6 with two outfits, the first of which is themed after her classic design in Fatal Fury. Outfit 2 on the other hand, is based on her latest design from the upcoming fighting game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
Mai’s moveset will remain familiar to returning Fatal Fury enjoyers, despite the addition of new Street Fighter 6 mechanics to her kit. She can throw her fan like a fireball, execute divekicks, spin forward in a fiery blaze, and use a bevy of other fire attacks to gain an edge over her opponents.
Mai will be immediately available for anyone who already owns Street Fighter 6’s Year 2 Character Pass or Year 2 Ultimate Pass. Alternatively, she can be purchased with Fighter Coins. Mai Shiranui will launch on February 5, 2025, followed by Elena sometime this spring. Elena will be the final Year 2 character for Street Fighter 6.
