Godzilla is officially stomping into Fortnite, but where’s his good friend Kong?
Epic Games has unveiled a behemoth of a crossover for Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 6: Godzilla. The Toho-created, atomic breath-spewing kaiju is stomping onto a brand-new Battle Royale map in Fortnite’s upcoming Chapter 6 content drop, along with Baymax from Big Hero 6. Chapter 6 Season 1 is titled Hunters, and appears to feature a Japanese theme with a battle pass consisting of both original and crossover-inspired skins.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 confirms Godzilla and Big Hero 6 crossovers
Epic Games is teasing Fortnite’s upcoming Chapter 6 of Battle Royale content, which will revamp the mode with new items, weapons, cosmetics and an all-new map full of fresh Points of Interest to explore. Chapter 6 launches on December 1, 2024, and is rumoured to feature a Japanese theme.
As it turns out, this Japanese theme extends well beyond its map design, and into its Battle Pass contents. According to recently-released Chapter 6 Season 1 artwork, this season will feature a crossover with two characters who hail from Japan: Baymax from Big Hero 6 and Godzilla from the Toho’s Godzilla franchise.
However, it should be noted that this version of Godzilla appears to be themed after the American MonsterVerse version of Godzilla. His pink scales and atomic breath seemingly match the kaiju’s appearance in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. While it’s likely that Godzilla will end up stomping onto Chapter 6’s map in his full-fledged, titanic-sized glory, it looks like the kaiju will also be playable as an actual character skin.
That is, according to reputable leaker ShiinaBR, who claims that Godzilla will appear as a skin called ‘Godzilla Evolved’. For those not in the know, Godzilla Evolved is the name of Godzilla’s appearance in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, confirming that this will be the pink MonsterVerse version of the character. Other leaks spilled by ShiinaBR for this season include a Demon Slayer anime collaboration, PLUS more skins from Sony Pictures’ Spider-Verse movies and Disney’s Avatar movies.
Fortnite is currently in the midst of concluding its current Chapter 2 Remix season, which features several musical guest stars – the likes of Snoop Dogg and Ice Spice – with a free Juice WRLD skin. Chapter 6 Season 1 will launch on December 1, 2024, followed by Fortnite OG on December 6, 2024.
