Honkai: Star Rail dropped a bombshell on players by revealing that the Remembrance Path will soon become playable, with its first-ever 5-star character being Aglaea.
Aglaea, who will also wield the Lightning element, and the Path of Remembrance is set to be released in Honkai: Star Rail version 3.0 in January 2025. The 5-star Ice Erudition character The Herta will also be released in this update.
In Honkai: Star Rail’s lore, Paths are manifestations of universal philosophical concepts. But in gameplay, the Paths represent a playable character’s role, with characters on the Path of the Preservation acting as shielders and tanks, for example.
The Path of Remembrance, embodied by the Aeon Fuli, will be the game’s eighth playable Path. The Remembrance Path was previously only represented in-game in the Simulated Universe and Divergent Universe game modes, focusing on inflicting the Frozen debuff on enemies. But with Aglaea also being revealed to wield the Lightning element, we can expect the Remembrance Path to do something very different.
Aglaea will also be the first playable character to hail from Amphoreus, the new world the Astral Express Crew is set to travel to in version 3.0. She is also called the Goldweaver, the Chrysos Heir bearing the Coreflame of 'Romance', and the Dressmaster of Okhema.
Based on Aglaea’s character design, we can expect Amphoreus to have a Classical Roman and Greek theme. The name Aglaea notably comes from Greek mythology, meaning ‘splendour, brilliant, and shining one’.
Amphoreus, also known as the Eternal Land, is a world that is virtually unknown to most people in Honkai: Star Rail, with even the Aeon of Trailblaze Akivili never having reached the planet. The planet is also fettered by three different Paths, and can only be seen through the light of the mirrors from the Garden of Recollection, which is why Black Swan offered to help the Astral Express Crew reach Amphoreus to ensure the Astral Express will never run out of fuel.
Honkai: Star Rail's most recent update was Version 2.6, which was released on October 23 with a new 5-star character in Rappa, a new Trailblaze Continuance Mission that sees the Astral Express Crew return to Penacony, a new Simulated Universe game mode, and more. Currently, the version update is in its second half, with Acheron and Aventurine running alongside each other in a dual rerun banner.
Following Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.6 is Version 2.7 in December, which will feature the release of two highly-anticipated 5-star characters in Sunday and Tingyun's ‘Fugue’ form. The preview livestream for Version 2.7 is set to premiere this Friday (November 22), and is expected to reveal upcoming content for both Version 2.7 and Version 3.0.
Trailblazers can expect an upcoming major update to Honkai: Star Rail in 2025 with version 3.0, which will introduce a new planet in Amphoreus alongside a host of new characters, content, and other additional features.
