Honkai Star Rail has dripped the next new playable character coming to version 3.0, and it’s the Herta.
No, not the current 4-star Herta we all know, but the Herta, in all her original, magnificent glory.
We first encountered Herta through one of her puppets in the Trailblazer’s first adventure at the Herta Space Station. Designed after her younger self, the 4-star version of Herta follows the Path of Erudition and wields the Ice element, known and beloved by all for kurukuru-ing waves of enemies to death.
But what about Herta’s original form? Well, we’re about to meet her soon - in Honkai: Star Rail version 3.0!
The original Herta, dubbed as “The Herta” by the Intelligentsia Guild, will also follow the Path of Erudition and wield the Ice element. Of course, The Herta herself will feature nothing less than a 5-star rarity. We honestly can’t wait to play with both the 5-star and 4-star versions of Herta and just kurukuru our way through the entire game!
Herta is member #83 of the Genius Society and one of the designers of the Simulated Universe. She is also a confirmed Emanator of Erudition, having earned permission from the Aeon of Erudition Nous to draw power from their Path.
Known for her habit of staying cooped up in her home somewhere at the far edge of the cosmos, Herta finally making a personal appearance seems to hint at a future urgent event that only she can handle. As for what exactly brought her into the fold, who knows? Another Simulated Universe update? Perhaps something to do with the upcoming new world Amphoreus?
We're expecting The Herta to finally arrive in Honkai: Star Rail alongside the version 3.0 update in January 2025. With version 3.0 also seeing the release of a new world in Amphoreus, more characters debuting in the update should also be revealed. Based on previous versions, we expect a second 5-star character and a 4-star character to also be revealed in the coming days.
Honkai: Star Rail's most recent update was Version 2.6, which was released on October 23 with a new 5-star character in Rappa, a new Trailblaze Continuance Mission that sees the Astral Express Crew return to Penacony, a new Simulated Universe game mode, and more. Currently, the version update is in its second half, with Acheron and Aventurine running alongside each other in a dual rerun banner.
Following Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.6 is Version 2.7 in December, which will feature the release of two highly-anticipated 5-star characters in Sunday and Tingyun's ‘Fugue’ form. The preview livestream for Version 2.7 is set to premiere this Friday (November 22), and is expected to reveal upcoming content for both Version 2.7 and Version 3.0.
Trailblazers can expect an upcoming major update to Honkai: Star Rail in 2025 with version 3.0, which will introduce a new planet in Amphoreus, alongside a host of new characters, content, and other additional features.
