Stellar Blade gets Nier: Automata crossover, launching on PC in 2025

Stellar Blade's Nier Automata DLC will be available on 20 November.

ShiftUp, the developer of the action-adventure game Stellar Blade have been busy as of late. The studio recently revealed two huge announcements back-to-back: Stellar Blade's highly anticipated Nier: Automata DLC to be released on November 20, and the release window of the game’s PC Port, which is now targeting a 2025 release.

Nier: Automata DLC Arriving on 20 November

Fans of Stellar Blade can look forward to a Nier: Automata-inspired DLC pack, arriving on November 20. The eagerly anticipated content was revealed on November 12 via a post on the PlayStation Blog.

This DLC was the outcome of a collaboration between Stellar Blade’s Director Kim Hyung Tae and Nier: Automata Director Yoko Taro, which was said to be “marked by mutual respect and creativity.” In addition to the new crossover content, players will gain access to a photo mode, allowing character customisation and in-game photography to enhance the gaming experience.

PC port for Stellar Blade Scheduled for 2025

The game’s PC Port was also confirmed during the Q&A of ShiftUp’s Q3 Report presentation.  Responding to a question about the PC release in the earnings report, Shift Up stated: “We’re aiming for a 2025 release.”

“Given recent trends like Steam’s growing presence in the AAA games market and the global success of Black Myth: Wukong, we are expecting the PC version to perform even better than the console version.”

Black Myth: Wukong, the game mentioned in the Q&A, achieved a record number of concurrent players for a single-player title on Steam when it launched in August—an ambitious benchmark Shift Up hopes to approach with Stellar Blade’s upcoming PC debut.

No further details on the release window have been revealed yet. At the very least, fans who have long wanted to try the game can get their hands on it by next year.
