Zenless Zone Zero previews rewards and content ahead of July launch

HoYoverse's New Urban-Fantasy Action RPG will be available for pre-download on 2 July and will launch on 4 July.

There are only a few days left before Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ), HoYoverse's newest ARPG, drops and some new details have just been revealed by the devs through ZZZ's Version 1.0 Pre-Release Special Program on Friday (28 June).

Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) is HoYoverse's new urban fantasy ARPG where players take on the role of a "Proxy" in a post-apocalyptic setting, to help citizens navigate dangerous Hollows, engage in combat, fulfil missions, and uncover the secrets of New Eridu, the last surviving city, alongside a cast of unique characters.

The urban fantasy ARPG will be available on PS5, PC, Android, and iOS for pre-download on Tuesday (2 July) and will launch globally on Thursday (4 July) at 10:00 AM SGT.

Here's what you can look forward to upon the game's release.

Generous In-Game Rewards

To celebrate the launch, ZZZ offers substantial in-game rewards, including up to 1600 Polychromes, 70 Master Tapes, 20 Encrypted Master Tapes, and 80 Boopons.

Players can earn these rewards by progressing in the game, participating in launch events, and engaging in time-limited activities like Friendship Supervision and Watch Your Step.

ZZZ Exceeds 40 Million Pre-Registrations

ZZZ has also achieved over 40 million global sign-ups, marking a significant milestone. This achievement will be celebrated with various rewards and launch events available upon the game's official release.

New Game Content

Throughout each closed beta phase, the ZZZ dev team consistently introduced new game content for beta testers to try out and enjoy.

However, at the game's official release, players—both old and new—can look forward to discovering even more exciting content, despite the extensive updates of the last six months.

The Pre-Release Special Program highlighted new areas within New Eridu, the last city standing in a world destroyed by the "Hollows."  One of which is the Lumina Square, a newly added district. There will be a ton of things to do here and there if you don't feel like spending the day in action within the Hollows. The city is full of interactive elements like Bangboo needing help and hidden Cargo Trucks with rewards.

On top of this, Scott Outpost offers a new base for explorers to tackle challenges in Hollow Zero and Shiyu Defense. The Random Play area has been expanded, allowing players to enjoy music and customize photo walls, enhancing the urban experience.

Of course, there are more things to look forward to at Sixth Street where our proxies live. Even our Proxies’ quarters have been expanded with a second floor, where either Belle or Wise can sleep or rest.

In addition to all these, two new playable agents, Lucy and Piper from the Sons of Calydon, were also introduced, adding fresh dynamics to gameplay.

ZZZ gameplay will cater to multiple skill levels

In the Pre-Release Special Program, ZZZ Game Producer Zhenyu highlighted the game's design philosophy: “The final piece of ZZZ’s feeling of satisfaction is a low barrier of entry but a high skill ceiling.”

The combat system is crafted to ensure that players with no action game experience can enjoy the game.

At the same time, it provides a deep and satisfying experience for seasoned action gamers.

This balance is achieved through enhancements in the impact and rhythm of fighting animations and the addition of the new Perfect Assist system, making the game more accessible to newcomers.

Additionally, ZZZ will have a difficulty level called Hollow Zero. This mode is integral to the plot and offers a challenging and rewarding experience for veteran action game players.
