MCU’s Fantastic Four movie cast revealed at last

Marvel Studios dropped the Fantastic Four cast announcement on Valentine’s Day of all days, finally confirming that there was some truth to its long-rumoured lineup. The movie will feature Marvel’s first family as comic book fans remember them - Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch and the Thing - the core group, minus a few children who popped up later on.

Marvel’s Valentine’s Day artwork also hints that the Fantastic Four’s robot helper HERBIE will be featured in the movie, which seems to be set in the 60s judging by the group’s clothes, the art style featured, and a very specific issue of Life the Thing is reading originally released in December 1963. The movie is directed by WandaVision’s Matt Shankman, who also happens to have some experience dealing with Marvel characters living in bygone time periods.

Pedro Pascal’s casting as Reed Richards might come as a surprise to anyone who’s been keeping up with his work. The actor appears to be fully booked for the next year at least, between acting as Joel Miller in The Last of Us Season 2, Din Djarin in the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu film and more. Ebon Moss-Bachrach will also hop into the MCU following critical acclaim for his role in Hulu’s The Bear. Vanessa Kirby is currently filming the next Mission Impossible movie, while Joseph Quinn is set to star in A Quiet Place: Day One and Gladiator 2.

That’s a packed schedule all around. Marvel Studios also reshuffled a few of its movie release dates today, including The Fantastic Four. The movie now hits theaters on July 25, 2025, followed by Thunderbolts on May 2, 2025. We’ll also get Captain America: Brave New World and Blade in theaters the same year. The Fantastic Four was first revealed all the way back in 2019, and is now set to be released six long years later.
