The 2024 Dota 2 season is now set to close with a $1 million tournament by ESL in Bangkok, Thailand.
Even with The International 2024 set to kick off soon, Dota 2 esports action will continue all the way to the end of the year as ESL has announced they will be hosting ESL One Bangkok 2024 in mid-December.
ESL One Bangkok 2024 will be hosted in the Royal Paragon Hall in Bangkok, Thailand from December 9 to 15 and will feature 12 of the best Dota 2 teams in the world fighting for their cut of a $1 million prize pool. The 12 participating teams will be comprised of four top-ranked teams from the ESL Pro Tour leaderboard along with eight others who will earn their spots via regional qualifiers.
ESL One Bangkok 2024 will kick off with Open Qualifiers from November 11 to 14, followed by Closed Qualifiers from November 15 to 17. While ESL is yet to reveal full details for the Closed Qualifiers, it is expected to feature all six regions in the Dota 2 esports scene in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, China, Southeast Asia, North America, and South America. Two of those regions are also expected to have two representatives coming from the Closed Qualifiers while the rest will have one slot.
The 12 teams competing in ESL One Bangkok 2024 will start in the Group Stage, which will be played off-venue from December 9 to 11. The eight best-performing teams from the Group Stage will then advance to the Playoffs, which will be played in front of a live crowd in the Royal Paragon Arena from December 13 to 15.
