About five weeks before The International 2024 begins, Dota 2 patch 7.37 has been released which is bound to make things interesting in Copenhagen.
The International 2024 (TI13) is only a few weeks away, and the TI patch has arrived! Dota 2 patch 7.37 has braced the game and will be the one on which the fight for the Aegis will take place.
The patch mainly brings changes to heroes, and not a lot of changes to gameplay, which is to be expected so close to the most prestigious Dota 2 tournament of the year. In terms of heroes, there are 21 new innate abilities and 10 new facets. When Dota 2 patch 7.36 was released, a lot of heroes just got one of their regular four abilities reframed as their innate ability. That has been rectified with many of them getting a shiny new innate ability.
New innate ability heroes from Dota 2 patch 7.37
- Abaddon
- Anti-Mage
- Beastmaster
- Brewmaster
- Bristleback
- Earthshaker
- Elder Titan
- Ember Spirit
- Enchantress
- Kunkka
- Legion Commander
- Lina
- Lone Druid
- Phantom Lancer
- Templar Assassin
- Troll Warlord
- Underlord
- Venomancer
- Viper
- Visage
- Weaver
In case of facets, certain facets never caught up, or certain heroes just needed a third facet to make them more viable depending on the draft. For that, 10 new facets have been introduced to the game. Some have been introduced as a third facet, while others have been brought in as a replacement for an old facet.

General Changes
One of the big changes to the game is the teleport time to Roshan’s Outpost now taking 4 seconds instead of 6 seconds. This will be massive for Roshan fights, especially if buybacks are added to the equation.
Facets can also now be disabled using the ‘break’ mechanic. There is a whole bunch of facets that are completely disabled, while another bunch that are only partially disabled. The entire list can be found in the full patch log for Dota 2 patch 7.37.
Neutral Items
Two of the old favourite neutral items return – Ironwood Tree and Iron Talon!
Ironwood Tree is a Tier 1 item, and Timbersaw players will be quite pleased to see it.
Iron Talon is a Tier 2 item, and while early jungling is out of the question, this is a boon for those heroes that need to farm for a while into the mid game before they hit their critical mass.
Hero Nerfs
There are a lot of buffs and nerfs that patch 7.37 has brought with it, and GosuGamers will have a separate detailed piece to look at the winners and losers of the patch. But three of the hard hitters of Dota 2 patch 7.36 have been brought down a few notches with nerfs in patch 7.37.
Dark Seer
Mental Fortitude was perhaps the best innate ability in the game, as it pretty much gave Dark Seer two attributes for the price of one. With the nerf in Dota 2 patch 7.37, Dark Seer will have to focus on increasing strength and agility both, not just strength, to get the high intelligence he wishes for.
Sven
Nerfs to Sven’s Warcry were expected considering how strong he has been as a support for the last few weeks. Although this will impact his effectiveness as a support, it doesn’t take the Rogue Knight totally out of the running as he still has the physical damage barrier from the Heavy Plate facet, which was not nerfed.
Tiny
The nerfs to Crash Landing have crashed Tiny’s chances of being one of strongest mid heroes of Dota 2 patch 7.37. Or have they? We looked at the numbers on the increase in Toss damage the Crash Landing facet brought with it, and we’ll go back and do some more math to see how much the recent nerfs will reduce that damage. But whatever the numbers say, Tiny’s early game threat is bound to take a serious hit.
There is a lot to absorb here, and it will take time for everyone to digest all the changes Dota 2 patch 7.37 has brought with it. In the next few days, GosuGamers will take a more detailed look at the patch, with emphasis on the new 21 new innate abilities and 10 new facets.
