Crownfall Act III, which traces Vengeful Spirit's journey to the northernmost parts of the realm has been released with a new map and comic.
Valve promised to release Crownfall Act III on June 39th, and they have delivered accordingly! 9th July is basically June 39th, and that is the day the third act of Crownfall has braced the game. The first act saw Vengeful Spirit and Skywrath Mage search for Scree'Auk, the second act saw Skywrath travel to the Deserts of Druud, and the third will be Vengeful Spirit's Journey to Icewrack. Like the previous two acts, this one comes with its own map, and can be played even if the previous two haven't been completed.
Crownfall Act III: The Frosts of Icewrack
Act III also brings a minigame called ‘Sleet Fighter’, which is a play on the name 'Street Fighter'. The game is similar to Street Fighter, but with Dota 2 heroes instead. The five heroes that can be picked include Vengeful Spirit, Tusk, Bristleback, Dawnbreaker and Marci. Defeating the computer for the sake of gaining tokens is not much of a challenge, but it could be fun to play against friends.

The update also came with a blogpost. The blogpost mentions that the event will extended till the end of October.
If you've been playing along through Crownfall as each act releases and want to jump right in to the new Act III content, you can start with Act III's intro comic, The Dragon, following Shen and her allies as they land in Icewrack, searching for Kestrel and his army. If you want a refresher on how we got here, you can also read the Act I intro comic, Ascension Day, and the Act II intro, The Battle of Hell's Basin.
If you're just joining in now, this is your reminder that all of the previous acts are still available, and will remain so through to the end of Crownfall. Speaking of which, given how much the event has grown since we initially imagined it (and how much its still growing), we've also decided to extend the event end date to October.
Finally, for heroes with a lot of sets and an arcana, the arcana now goes into a base slot, which allows the mixing and matching of more sets with the arcana.
It is an exciting update if you are following the Crownfall story. The only thing lacking has been the promised new hero, Ring Master. Surely, he has to be a part of one of the Corwnfall acts, right? Hopefully, that is the case, and we find out soon enough.
