All teams qualified for Elite League Season 2

It’s a hot and busy summer for the Dota 2 professional scene. The end of July especially has a lot to offer with two LAN tournaments set to begin immediately after Esports World Cup.

Elite League Season 2 is bringing Dota 2 to South America. The second season is a LAN tournament boasting a $800,000 prize pool that will unfold from July 25 to August 4 in Lima, Peru.

For now, ESB, the tournament organiser revealed that the event will consist of two group stages and a playoff. The teams that will get a direct invite to the tournament are yet to be revealed, however, over the past week, regional qualifiers were held in the six major regions. Each region had one slot up for grabs to the LAN event.

Most teams heading to Peru at the end of the month are relatively unknown as this will mark their debut at a tier-one tournament. Speaking about debuts, this will be the first time when fans will get to see the Eastern European prodigy, Alan "Satanic" Gallyamov, who has been dominating the pubs for the past couple of years and who at only 15 years old has caught Team Spirit’s full attention. Some say he is here to replace one day Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk. Time will tell if he does end up at Team Spirit or not. For now, Elite League will mark his international LAN debut.

While we wait for ESB to reveal the teams that got a direct invite to the tournament, it is worth mentioning that this event is almost perfectly overlapping with another LAN held in China. Snow Ruyi Invitational will run from July 28 to August 4 and has already announced its participating teams and based on their announcement, we know which team won’t be in Peru.
