Peruvian tournament organiser and broadcasting studio ESB Elite announced a three-year partnership with Qatar Esports Federation that will provide new global leagues for Dota 2.
Through their partnership, ESB and QESF have signed a “Memorandum of Understanding to execute a series of top events for 2024 with a three-year vision,” the two parties announced in a joint press release.
As part of the 2024 plan, ESB and QESF will host three offline events with a total prize pool of $2,600,000. A total of 10 of the best teams in the world will be participating in each of this year’s events with open and closed qualifiers ensuring representation from all 7 major regions.
“The QESF is committed to support the international esports community, and this agreement is the first step of a long term plan with ESB to innovate and push the esports ecosystem forward, not only in Qatar and the MENA region, but around the world,” said QESF, General Secretary Mr. Faisal Khalid.
2024 scheduled events - dates and locations:
- April 3 - April 14: LAN event Doha, Qatar
- July 22 - August 4: Arena LAN event Lima, Peru
- November 26 - December 6: Arena LAN event Doha, Qatar
The newly announced partnership aims to give amateurs and semi-pros a platform to hone their skills and take the next step towards a professional career in esports.
“There is a big space in the Dota 2 and esports scene for innovation and doing great things for the community, not only at the top level of competitive esports, but also at a regional and amateur level,” said Said Gonzalo Velasco, CEO of ESB. According to the press release, the ESB and QESF partnership will expand to more game titles in the upcoming years.
