A total of 16 teams around the world are set for the upcoming $1,000,000 DreamLeague Season 22. The tournament will be held online, but will have all the participating teams heading to bootcamps across Europe next month to compete against each other from February 25 to Match 10.
Last year, when ESL One introduced the ESL Pro Tour (EPT) to Dota 2 as well, the DreamLeague tournaments became a part of it, meaning that each season is awarding the teams not only a substantial prize in money, but also EPT points. With each ESL event, the EPT Leaderboard determines who gets a direct invite to the next EPT event and who has to go through open and/or closed qualifiers.
For this upcoming season of DreamLeague, four teams secured their spots via EPT points. Gaimin Gladiators, Team Liquid, BetBoom Team and Xtreme Gaming were spared from the qualifier process while 12 more teams made their way through regional qualifier matches.
