Heroic enters Dota 2 with South American roster

The Norwegian esports organisation best known for its CS:GO achievements, Heroic makes an entrance in Dota 2 by signing a South American roster for the 2024 competitive year.

Heroic announced their intentions to expand to Dota 2 in September of 2023. “We are excited to announce that over the next few months, we're expanding our esports presence,” announced the legendary CS:GO organisation last year. A few months later, their Dota 2 division is heading to South America with a mix of renowned players and rising stars who will compete under Igor "kaffs" Furtado’s guidance from the coaching seat. 

“Heroic will bring flair and fresh energy to Dota 2, with the goal of shaking things up and building storylines that carry through the year, not only focusing on TI", said Oliver Valsgaard, Heroic Director of Esports Operations. “This is just the beginning. There are a lot of exciting things happening behind the scenes, both in Counter-Strike and our new titles, with even more games on the horizon. This is a very exciting time to be in Heroic!”

According to Heroic’s Dota 2 manager, Vitória Otero, former beastcoast and Evil Geniuses manager for the past three years, Heroic will make their debut in Dota 2 this week on January 7, with the closed qualifiers for BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024.
