After eight years of playing together, Ivan "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov and Kuro "KuroKy" Takhasomi go separate ways.
MinD_ContRoL and KuroKy stuck together since day one of 5Jungs. The two of them joined forces for what would become an amazing journey in August 2015, when KuroKy announced the formation of the 5Jungz stack for ESL One New York qualifiers. Soon after the qualifiers, the stack was signed by Team Liquid and would go play under the new tag at Nanyang Dota 2 Championships Season 1. From there on, the roster suffered several changes, before they found a championship formula and would go claim the Aegis of Champions under the Team Liquid banner at The International 2017.
With every major roster change, and even moving from Liquid to Nigma Galaxy in 2019, one thing remained constant. MinD_ContRoL and KuroKy would stick together through thick and thin. The past couple of years were particularly rough for Nigma Galaxy, who struggled to find their footing in the online format of Dota Pro Circuit regional leagues.
Moving into a 2024 competitive year without DPC leagues and Valve sponsored events besides The International, Nigma Galaxy seems to be looking at reinventing itself once again. But this time around, MinD_ContRoL will look to new endeavors.
“Indeed from 5Jungz to Nigma Galaxy it was one of the best times in my life,” posted MinD_ContRoL on X. “But everything has an end, time to say goodbye to my favourite team and people I have ever worked with, Nigma Galaxy.”
It is unclear if Nigma Galaxy will undergo more roster changes through the end of 2023 and where is MinD_ContRoL heading to for 2024.
For now, the current Nigma Galaxy roster is as follows:
Kasra “Mikey” Mesbah
Maroun “GH” Merhej
Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi
