Team Falcons to debut at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023

MENA closed qualifiers for ESL One Kuala Lumpur came to an end with an epic battle between PSG Quest and the newly formed Team Falcons.

MENA received its own qualifier leg for this year’s ESL One Kuala Lumpur tournament and most likely, moving forward, Dota 2 fans will get to see this region having its own regional competing more often. A total of six teams battled for the one ticket up for grabs to the $1,000,000 event in Malaysia, but all eyes were on the newly formed Team Falcons.

Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak
Ammar “ATF” Assaf
Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen
Jing “Sneyking” Wu

Team Falcons might have secured one of the strongest laning presence in Dota 2. Their side lanes feature the TI11 champions Skitter and Sneyking duo and ATF joined by Cr1t, which in theory could be the hardest offlane dup to play against. Given the incredibly stacked roster they were playing against, PSG Quest opened the grand finals battle with a Naga Siren, Bristleback, and position 4 Nature’s Prophet to cover both the early and late game scenarios and they’ve been able to start on the right foot, winning the first game.

They aimed at a similar result in game two, but swapped the Naga with Luna, for an even stronger high ground push, but Falcons adapted quickly with a last pick Batrider. Falcons had a superior global map presence with a Spectre-Spirit Breaker combo and were able to repeal PSG Quest’s heavy push in a 75-minute-long game that involved multiple Boots of Travel 2 and a Divine Rapier.

From there on, Falcons kept the pressure high with an ATF signature Razor in game three and the same Spectre-Spirit Breaker combo while game four brought a skitter Wraith King speciality to deal with PSG Quest’s mid lane Keeper of the Light early aggression.

With their victory in the MENA qualifiers, Team Falcons join 11 other teams at ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 which will take place December 11-17 with a $1,000,000 prize pool on the line.
