Former Talon players reunite at Serbian organisation Aurora Gaming

Talon Esports will start anew with up and coming players while their veterans move to Aurora, a new entry in the Southeast Asia competitive scene.

Four of the former Talon Esports players joined Aurora Gaming, a Serbian organisation that holds teams in Counter-Strike 2 and Apex. The new Aurora team will compete in the 2023-204 season in Southeast Asia, but without Talon’s mid laner Rafli "Mikoto" Fathur Rahman, who is taking a short competitive break.

In his place, the four former Talon members are joined at Aurora by Armel "Armel" Tabios coming from Team Secret.

Fans won’t have to wait for too long before they can see Aurora in action for the first time after the shuffle. The team is expected to play in the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 closed regional qualifiers beginning November 16.

At the same time, Talon Esports’ new lineup will make its debut in the same qualifier leg for Kuala Lumpur.

After losing all their players in the post TI12 shuffle, Talon went for a roster full of up and coming players. Most of the new Talon players have started their careers in the 2020-2021 online era, while the most senior member is Tri "Jhocam" Kuncoro.

Talon are set to play in the ESL One qualifiers later this week, however, their roster is not complete. They have secured four players so far and will compete for a ticket to Kuala Lumpur with Yuri "Yowe" Pacaña standing in the mid lane.

ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 qualifiers

The qualifier battle for ESL One Kuala Lumpur is set to begin on Sunday, November 12, which means fans don't have to wait long to see these new rosters in action.

  • 7 regions: NA, SA, WEU, EEU, MENA, China, SEA
  • 8 regional qualifier winners — WEU will receive two slots, and the other seven regions will be given one.

Open and closed qualifiers

  • Open qualifiers #1: Nov 12-13
  • Open qualifier #2: Nov 14-15
  • Closed qualifier: Nov 16-18

All the Top 4 teams at The International 2023 are spared from qualifier matches, ESL One handing them a direct pass to the $1,000,000 tournament. However, Team Spirit withdrew from the competition already.
