The 2022 Asian Games Dota 2 segment is about to kick off tomorrow, September 29th featuring 14 national teams.
The 2022 Asian Games are taking place in Hangzhou, China at the China Hangzhou Esports Centre. Dota 2 will be in action from September 29 and will be the final esports game played on October 2, 2023.
While this is a regional and national roster event, there are quite some notable players participating, representing their respective nations.

Among them, fans can catch China's fully stacked powerhouse including Ame, Somnus, Chalice, XinQ, 皮球, pyw, and LaNm (coach).
Malaysia's squad is no doubt a force to be reckoned with featuring JT, Ghost, NothingToSay, xNova, and ah fu who are being led by none other than coach Mushi.
The most prominent names of the Kazakhstan squad are Malik and Malady who currently play for Na'Vi.
Indonesia's representatives are familiar local stars Dreamocel, InYourdreaM, db-, Jhocam and Varizh.
Kyrgyzstan boasts Dream' and Zayac.
Thailand's lineup is headlined by Masaros.
Myanmar's roster is made of Yangon Galacticos' players. All of these players are banned from Valve for a scandal back in December related to scripting.
The stakes are bragging rights and bringing home a medal for their country.

The 2022 Asian Games was initially scheduled in 2022, but was postponed to 2023 due to concerns over COVID-19 in China.
The International Olympic Committee recognizes the event as the second largest multi-sport event after the Olympics.
Esports was initially added to the Asian Games sports program at the OCA General Assembly in Muscat, Oman on December 16, 2020. The first esports game in Asian Games was played at the 19th Asian Games in Indonesia in 2018. However, those games were not a medaled event, just a demonstration tournament.
The Asian Electronic Sports Federation, based in Hong Kong, China, has been appointed Technical Delegate of the esports competition at the 19th Asian Games by the OCA. The AESF will be in charge of the qualifying competition and for the operation and management of the esports competition in Hangzhou.
