Team Secret bids farewell to BOOM

After being relegated to Division II once again, Team Secret parts ways with Miroslav “BOOM” Bičan.

The runner-up team at The International 11, Team Secret, has been at the top of the conversation this year —and not for reasons to brag about.

After TI, Team Secret replaced Michal “Nisha” Jankowski with Miroslav “BOOM” Bičan after Nisha headed over to Team Liquid.

Things didn't go quite as hoped or planned for. They were relegated to Division II after Winter Tour and benched Roman "Resolut1on" Fomynok and Baqyt "Zayac" Emiljanov.

The offlane duo was replaced with Daniyal "yamich" Lazebnyy and Filipino player Armel "Armel" Tabios and they were promoted back to Division I during Tour 2, but couldn't quite seem to find their footing there in Tour 3.

Team Secret was once again relegated back to Division II with an abysmal 1-6 series performance. Their final match in the Summer Tour WEU league was against Tundra.

So now, before their run at DreamLeague Season 20 and before The International 2023 regional qualifiers, Team Secret is making another change to their lineup in hopes to salvage their last chance for Seattle.

Currently, there is no word on BOOM's replacement or where he will be heading. They will be using a stand-in for DreamLeague which begins on Sunday, June 11th at 12:00 CEST.

Team Secret will be playing their first series against Talon at that time.

The International 2023

The International returns to the US after four editions held around the world. TI7 was the last edition hosted by the Key Arena in Seattle, where Team Liquid lifted the Aegis of Champions. From there on, each year TI went to different parts of the globe. Key Arena, which now is Climate Pledge arena from Seattle will be the home for The International 2023. The event will run October 14 - 29 with the best 18 teams fighting for the trophy.

For teams lacking an invite to The International 2023, they will need to fight for the spot via qualifiers. Only six teams will qualify through the Regional Qualifiers; one team each from North America, South America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, China, and Southeast Asia.
