Visa issues are back on the menu for some of the teams qualified for the upcoming ESL One Berlin Major.
BetBoom Team is the second participant at the Major to announce a stand-in player after Aster.
While the Chinese team will play with Syed "SumaiL" Hassan in the mid lane for a different reason than being short on visas, BetBoom will bring Roman "Resolut1on" Fomynok with them in Berlin after failing to secure a visa for Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko.
With Reso standing-in, BetBoom will switch a little their lanes to accommodate the stand-in. Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko will go back to carry position while Resolut1on will fill in in the offlane.
BetBoom Team roster for Berlin Major
Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko
Danil “gpk” Skutin
Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok (stand-in)
Vitalie “Save-” Melnic
Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek
This couldn’t be a worse moment for the teams to have to bring stand-ins to a Major tournament. The Berlin Major is the second in the Dota Pro Circuit schedule and boasts 800 DPC points than the Lima Major and a good amount of teams have the chance to lock in their TI ticket in Berlin.
BetBoom are currently sitting on the 12th spot in the DPC rankings with just 460 points to their name and need a top 8 finish in Berlin in order to secure more DPC points. It is currently unclear if the teams that arrive at the Berlin Major with stand-ins due to visa issues will receive point penalty or not.
This will be the first Major played on the recently deployed New Frontiers 7.33 patch. The 18 teams qualified for the Major have only 5 days at their disposal to figure out as much as possible from the new patch, which is huge and has changed the game almost entirely.
