Following PSG.LGD’s withdrawal from DreamLeague Season 19, ESL One announce Nigma Galaxy as being the next eligible team for an invite.
DreamLeague Season 19 is about to kick off on Sunday, April 9, but less than 24 hours before it starts, PSG.LGD had to forfeit their spot due to visa issues. Beginning with this season, DL is a part of the newly introduced ESL Pro Tour which culminates with the $15,000,000 Riyadh Masters 2023.
A total of 16 teams were announced to have been directly invited to play in the league portion of the tour based on an EPT ranking system put in place by ESL. Given the fact that DreamLeague S19 features teams from across all regions, all the competitors have to bootcamp in Europe in order to be able to participate in the tournament.
According to an ESL One announcement, due to PSG.LGD’s withdrawal happening so close to the starting date, the organizers were “left unable to invite a replacement team from China, or any other region where applying for visas would be necessary for them to join.”
The next region eligible to have a team invited to EPT is Western Europe and the next team in line from the said region is Nigma Galaxy.
In the same announcement, ESL One also mention that Nigma Galaxy will be playing with a different roster than the one they registered for the Dota Pro Circuit. WEU DPC Division I regional leagues have just come to a close last week, with Nigma Galaxy relegating back to Division II. While the organization hasn’t made any official announcement as of yet, many anticipate that DreamLeague Season 19 will mark Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi's return after nearly six months of inactivity.
Nigma Galaxy will start the DreamLeague journey seed in Group B and their first series is scheduled at 15:30 EEST against OG.
