PGL Arlington Major group stage has come to an end with five teams being eliminated and the playoffs ready to kick off this Tuesday, August 9.
The final four matches from Group B concluded the five-day marathon of group play and three more teams will now have to head back home empty-handed, with no prize pool and no Dota Pro Circuit points from the PGL Arlington Major.
From all teams eliminated on the last day of the group stage, Thunder Awaken is the only one that makes an early exit with nothing changing regarding a direct invite at TI11. TA is one of the five teams who have already secured their spot at the biggest tournament of the year courtesy of their performance in the three DPC regional league seasons and based on their sixth place finish at the previous Major.
For Soniqs (formerly knowns as Quincy Crew) and Talon Esports, the early elimination from PGL Arlington Major means that it’s time to focus on the TI11 regional qualifiers. Both teams are outside of the top 12 in the DPC rankings.
On the victors’ side of the group stage, the upper bracket is populated by PSG.LGD, Outsiders, OG and Fnatic from Group A, and by Team Aster, Entity, Team Spirit and BOOM Esports from Group B, but they will have no time to rest.
PGL Arlington Major playoffs will start with the upper bracket quarterfinals matchups as follows:
- 10:00 CDT/17:00 CEST - PSG.LGD vs BOOM Esports
- 13:00 CDT/20:00 CEST - Entity vs OG
- 16:00 CDT/23:00 CEST - Outsiders vs Team Spirit
- 19:00 CDT/03:00 CEST (August 10) -Team Aster vs Fnatic
Royal Never Give Up, beastcoast, Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid will start their playoff run from the lower bracket beginning on August 10.
