As every year at The International, on the second to last day of the tournament Valve introduced the new hero joining the battlefield. This year, DOTA: Dragon’s Blood character Marci will make the transition to Dota 2.
Marci was introduced for the first time to the Dota 2 fans via the Netflix animated series, DOTA: Dragon’s Blood. She is Mirana’s mute sidekick, and during the first season of the animated series, she quickly became fans’ favourite.
Although she had no lines, Netflix’s production showcased her great fighting abilities, which might place her in the Strength or Agility category in the actual Dota 2 game. Valve hasn’t revealed in their announcement any of her abilities, but one thing is sure. Her whistling skills would be similar to the other Strength heroes already existing in the game and that can't really speak, like Phoenix or Io.
While no specific date was announced for when she will be added to the game, fans should expect her to join the battle by the end of the year.
Along with the Marci announcement, Valve has also revealed that the second season of DOTA: Dragon’s Blood will be coming on Netflix in January 2022.
