Undying to go as an independent team at The International 10

Undying becomes the second TI10 qualified team from North America to choose an independent path for the biggest Dota 2 tournament of the year.

After Quincy Crew took a similar decision a month ago, Undying will join them on the free of contracts trend and will head to Bucharest, Romania in October for TI10 without an organization behind them.

Formed at the beginning of the year, Undying competed through the entire 2021 Dota Pro Circuit without an organization to back up their efforts. Despite the lack of sponsors, they made no roster change through the whole year and although they didn’t clinch a ticket at any of the DPC Majors, they finished third in both seasonal leagues.

They smashed the competition in the TI10 qualifiers for North America claiming the final spot at the biggest event of the year with a stunning 9-0 performance in the upper bracket. Right after they secured a spot at TI10, Undying announced the search for an organization to represent on the big stage, however, a couple of weeks later, they already decided to drop that plan and look only for sponsorship opportunities while remaining an independent team.

“We would definitely like to boot camp for around 10 days. In the days to come, hopefully, we will get an organization that will help us with this, so we can meet in Europe, and the rest of the team will get used to the EU time zone. Also, the team members of Undying haven’t met in person, and I feel meeting and playing together will help us improve as a team,” Jonas "Saberlight" Volek told us right after the team qualified for TI10.

Team Undying roster:

Enzo “Timado” Gianoli
Jonathan Bryle “Bryle” Santos De Guia
Jonáš “SabeRLighT-” Volek
David “MoonMeander” Tan
Dooyoung “DuBu” Kim

Despite not having the financial support of an organization to sort out a bootcamp ahead of TI10, Undying might find the resources that they need at the upcoming BTS Pro Series Season 7. They’ve been invited straight to the playoffs stage of the $50,000 NA competition and a championship title at this event might be exactly the financial boost needed to make the pre-TI bootcamp happen. You can catch their games at BTS Pro Series S7 next month, between August 4 -22.
