The two CIS representatives for MDL Disneyland Major will be Virtus.pro and Team Empire.
The CIS derby for MDL Disneyland Major came to an end after Virtus.pro and then Team Empire claimed the two allocated spots for the event.
There was never any doubt that Virtus.pro would be on hand in Paris. The CIS powerhouse is currently ranked in first place of the DPC race and has taken first or second place at all of the three previous majors.
After a flawless group stage, VP then dominated the playoffs, dropping one game to Gambit and then one to Team Empire to secure the first spot.
Team Empire, on the other hand, surprised many viewers and fans. Not only did the Russian based team have a solid performance in groups, they destroyed VP in one match of the upper bracket series. Whatever they have been doing in scrims has certainly paid off and the team can now pack their bags to Disneyland.
From May 4th to May 12th, 16 of the best teams will battle it out at Disney’s Newport Bay Club and Disney® Events Arena which has a seating capacity of 6,300. As the fourth Major of the DPC 2018-2019 season, teams will be competing for the lion's share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and 15,000 DPC points.
