Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi of Team Liquid has taken a commendable third/fourth place finish in the first streamed tournament of Valve's new game Artifact.
Valve's new game Artifact, featuring lead designer of the game Richard Garfield (creator of Magic: The Gathering) has been a highly anticipated new release. Fans have had limited information teased out through the course of the year but overall, thanks to a solid NDA (nondisclosure agreement) access to much about the game has been barely accessible.
Over the weekend, however, BTS was able to host The Artifact Preview Tournament bringing fans much-unseen footage and commentary about the game live in competitive play. The event featured 128 players competing over a prize pool of USD $10,000 and included some well known Dota 2 personalities as well as Hearthstone players and other Beta testers from the gaming community.
The all-draft event featured a seven-round Swiss bracket followed by a top 8 single elimination bracket. Among those left standing towards the end was none other than Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi who ultimately ended up with a top-four finish.
The NDA will be lifted on November 17th so fans can expect a lot more content and information about the game and players forthcoming. For now, players can pre-order their copy of Artifact HERE for $20. Your purchase includes 10 card packs, 5 event tickets, and two complete starter decks. The two starter decks are Red/Green Brawler and Blue/Black Control. Official release is set for November 28th.
