- SEA – Qualifier #1 / Qualifier #2
- Europe – Qualifier #1 / Qualifier #2
- CIS – Qualifier #1 / Qualifier #2
- North America – Qualifier #1 / Qualifier #2
- South America – Qualifier #1 / Qualifier #2
- China – Qualifier #1
Note that Europe will be the only region where three teams instead of four will advance from the open qualifiers to the closed and China has only one open qualifier since winners from China's H-Cup will advance to the regional event.
With a packed schedule in November for Dota 2, the closed qualifiers will take place about a week after the conclusion of the open qualifiers. Contrary to most previous events, this gives the open qualifier teams time to practice and plan out strategies designed specifically towards their opponents. The closed qualifiers for SEA, CIS and South America will take place November 25-27th, with China, Europe and NA to follow November 28th-30th.
The Main Qualifiers will feature a best-of-three GSL group stage, with the top 2 teams from each group advancing into Double-Elimination playoffs. The Grand Finals match in the Double-Elimination playoffs, however, will not be played.
Regional allocations for the slots to the main event have not yet been revealed. Each region will receive at least two slots, leaving three more slots up for grabs, determined by Valve.
StarLadder and ImbaTV will be hosting the second Major of the DPC 2018-2019 season in Chongqing, China. The Chongqing Major will be held from the 19th to the 27th of January 2019 with sixteen of the world's best teams competing for the largest slice of the $1,000,000 and 15,000 DPC points.
