Paris Saint-Germain announced their strategic partnership with LGD Gaming today at a joint press conference.
Fabien Allègre, director of merchandising and diversification of the Paris Saint-Germain brand stated:
The partnership is the first bringing a Major European football club into the Dota 2 scene and crossing regions. Russian football clubs have already been leaving a footprint in the CIS region and American football and basketball clubs have been actively involved in supporting various North American teams.

LGD Gaming will now be rebranded as PSG.LGD and will make their debut in the new colors and banner at EPICENTER XL starting next week.

Dota 2 is not their first foray into esports. Two years ago they stepped into the scene taking on a League of Legends team and FIFA players. In 2017 they picked up several players in Rocket League.
PSG is a French professional football club based in the city of Paris, founded in 1970. The club has won a total of 36 trophies, making it the most successful French club in history by this measure. Oryx Qatar Sports Investments (QSi) has been the club's owner since 2011 making it the richest club in France and one of the wealthiest in the world with an annual revenue of €520.9m and worth $841m.
