The group seedings have been finalized as StarLadder ImbaTV Invitational S5 inches closer to start.

Eight teams will be going head to head next week for the fifth season of the StarLadder IMBATV Invitational. The teams have been divided into two groups of four for the initial group stage which will be held in the GSL format. Each series will be two game matches that will be a brutal battle of competition.

Only half of the teams will survive the first portion of the event, with the first and second placed teams in group advancing to the playoffs. The rest of the format will be best-of-three single elimination and best-of-five grand finals. The season is starting to wind down and with $300,000 and 300 DPC points on the line, teams will be fighting tooth and nail for the lion's share of TI8 qualifying points.

VGJ.Thunder and Na'Vi are currently sitting in the top 8 of the DPC rankings, hoping to further solidify their place. Fnatic is sitting on the cusp in 10th place with LGD Gaming right behind them. Both teams are hoping to find a way to quickly close the gap between them and the coveted top 8 placements.

Although Team Kinguin, OpTic Gaming, SG Esports and Fly to the Moon have little to no chance of taking up a position in the Top 8 DPC at this point in time, securing some points would still be a worthy accolade.
