After a long trail of subpar results and without any LAN participation ahead of them, Elements Pro Gaming bid farewell to their carry and mid-lane players.
Only a few hours ahead of their first matches in the Galaxy Battles EU qualifiers, the organization announced the departure of Uroš 'Swiftending' Gali? and Jure 'Pingvincek' Plešej from their Dota 2 team. After failing to qualify for any tournaments ahead of the International 7, Galaxy Battles qualifiers are EPG’s last hope at a LAN presence before the most important tournament of the year.
Thanks to all those who supported us and believed in us. ” - extract from Elements Pro Gaming’s official announcement
Unfortunately, EPG will now have to use two stand-in players for the Galaxy Battles regional qualifiers. According to the official announcement made on their vk account, the team is not ready to announce any long term replacements for Swiftending and Pingvincek, however they will strive for the best in the bo1 format of the European qualifiers for the $150,000 event from China with Penta’s support player, Dino 'dnz' Šavuk, and a new rising star from Serbia, Dusko 'Bor@nija' Boranijasevic.
Bor@nija is really at the beginning of a possible competitive career, he’s been spotted via pubs playing in the 7-8K MMR range and starting today he will be a tryout for EPG. With him joining the squad in the mid lane, and dnz keeping his support role, EPG’s captain Gordan 'g0g1' Prosic will take on the carry duties.
Elements Pro Gaming current roster:
Damir 'Mitch' Škari?i?
Nikola 'LeBronDota' Popovic
Gordan 'g0g1' Prosic
Dusko 'Bor@nija' Boranijasevic (tryout)
The Galaxy Battles qualifiers are held over two days, May31st and June 1st in a best-of-one single elimination format and EPG will enter the brawl at 20:00 CEST playing against the open qualifiers winners, Cyber Anjy. You can find the full Galaxy Battles EU qualifiers schedule below:
