Vega Squadron has dropped most of their Dota 2 roster, retaining only captain and support player Semion "CemaTheSlayer" Krivulya. The new roster has yet to be announced.
Vega Squadron's lackluster season seems to have culminated in a massive revamp of their Dota 2 roster. Only the captain and support player Semion "CemaTheSlayer" Krivulya will remain on board as the cornerstone of the new lineup. CemaTheSlayer had been with the team for over two years - since November 2014.
The new lineup has yet to be announced and there has been no further word on the plans and status of the departed team members.
Vega Squadron 2016-2017 Season
At the end of August, Vega went through a series of changes including bringing on board both Artsiom "fng" Barshack and Bogdan “Iceberg” Vasilenko in the midlane role.
Unfortunately, the new additions and changes were unable to achieve the desired results and both recruits took their leave in November. Vega Squadron took 6th in the group stage of Boston Major Qualifiers, and 6th place in DreamLeague, thus failing to advance in both. They also took a disappointing 9th-12th finish in the ESL One Genting 2017 qualifiers, being knocked out in Round 12 by Fantastic Five.
Earlier this year, in January, the squad took 5-10th place at WCA, failing to advance past the group stage. They since struggled to find any notable results in minor tournaments, or qualifying for major and premier events.
Vega Squadron lineup 2016-2017:
Semen “Cema” Krivulya
Andrey “Mag” Chipenko
Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev
Sergey Alexandrovich “G” Bragin
Dmitry “Ditya Ra” Minenkov
