D2CL #3: Fnatic set up a final clash with Empire

The second semi-final of Dota 2 Champions League #3 between Alliance and Fnatic has concluded, with the latter emerging victorious and setting up a grand final clash against the might of Team Empire.

DreamLeague champions Alliance crashed out from the third season of Dota 2 Champions League as Fnatic steam rolled the Swedes in straight three games. The boys in black and orange have set up a grand final clash against Team Empire who previously defeated Power Rangers.

Alliance seemed to be favourites going into the match-up coming off fresh and rejuvenated after winning DreamLeague season one, and were looking forward to make their second grand final appearance in D2CL. The Swedes won the inaugural season against Cloud9, who were also their opponents at DreamLeague finals.

On the other end, Fnatic were the least favourite amongst the two and took the community by surprise after pulling off straight 3 games from Alliance. As they are known for their orthodox and creative style, Fnatic displayed some prowess in their games as they went for different drafts.

The young prodigy, Excalibur, got his hands of his famed Tinker alongside Tiny and Meepo in those 3 games. H4nn1 also played Earthshaker twice in the last two games, and flaunted his versatility with Undying and Venomancer being brought back into the meta.

Meanwhile, Alliance couldn't hold off even with Bulldog getting his acclaimed Nature's Prophet in all 3 games. Alliance also drafted Jakiro, a hero that is rarely seen in competitive plays nowadays whilst Loda played Brewmaster; a hero he is not so familiar with. Speaking of creativity, Alliance also got their hands on Shadow Shaman and Spectre; two heroes that also have seen less competitive play.

Nonetheless, it was Fnatic's day and they deservingly took the series and punched their tickets to the grand finale of Dota 2 Champions League #3. Alliance will now face Power Rangers, who are currently without Scandal on June 23rd at 16.00 CEST.
