SyndereN and SUNSfan to form casting duo

SyndereN is joining DotaCinema as head of eSports and will be forming a casting duo together with known profile SUNSfan. Whether that will mean tournaments coming from DotaCinema, time will tell.

In December, Troels 'syndereN' Nielsen posted on his Facebook that he was retiring from competitive Dota 2, leaving the mousesport roster. He has earlier in his career had periods in which he was not playing in the pro scene and instead focused on his studies. He remained in the scene at those times, sharing his opinions through casts or talk shows. Today DotaCinema announced syndereN as their new head of eSports. The exact nature of his role as an eSports head is a bit of a mystery but DotaCinema mentioned that details will be unveiled within the next couple of weeks.

Besides his career as a player where he, among other things won, Dreamhack twice with WHB and then mTw followed by winning EMS One with mousesports, he is also well known for his casting. After being mostly seen (or rather; heard) in the past as a co-caster alongside Toby 'Tobiwan' Dawson, he will now form a casting duo at DotaCinema together with Shannon 'SUNSfan' Scotten. Although inactive until now, SUNSfan has casted quite a bit in the past. He is a familiar voice to those following the Fails of the Week series, in which he and Reaves went through various (miss)plays sent in by the community.

I'm really excited to officially be a part of DotaCinema. SUNSfan and Neil are great people to work with; they have good personalities and we've easily found a good balance between getting the job done and having a good laugh together. Joining them in their work has been a smooth and natural transition. I can honestly say that I feel very much at home in DC. I'm looking forward to commentating with SUNSfan; I remember seeing his casting more than two years back in the earlier stages of Dota 2 and recognizing him as a great commentator. We're going to revive that and take it to the next level!

I have been debating whether to come back to professional casting for quite some time. But after seeing so many great casters in the scene develop, I didn't think there was much need for my services. As a result, I told myself that I would only come back if a truly ideal situation presented itself. That situation has done so in the form of syndereN. He has always been my favorite caster as his commentating style and analysis are second to none. Getting a chance to work with someone of his caliber is a real honor and I can only hope that I don't drag him down too much.

Other than the statements above, DotaCinema also felt the necessity to share a word from Neil Mathisen, the owner of DotaCinema. "A word" is a very accurate description of his statement, the only content of which was the letters forming; "Cool".
