TPL Season V playoffs kick-off

The Premier League Season 5 playoffs take place today, with Alliance, Virtus.Pro, Mousesports and Evil Geniuses fighting over the $15000 prize pool. Alliance and EG will kick off the two-day final stage of the tournament at 15:00 CEST.

The curtain falls this week for TPL Season 5, with the four finalists battling for the $15.000 prize pool.

The first competitor to secure a spot in the finals was Alliance, winning three consecutive TPL cups and placing second in one. The other three finalists were decided during the final two cups, named Daedalus and Aegis consecutively. Mousesports and Evil Geniuses, winning one cup each, managed to earn the point advantage they needed to advance further in the tournament. Virtus.Pro earned their place at the last possible minute, with their win against Mouz in the Aegis Cup. Fnatic was the unlucky one of this version of TPL, placing fifth despite their success in Daedalus Cup.

The playoffs will begin on Saturday, 20th of July, with the first three matches of the series. The games will start with Alliance facing Evil Geniuses at 15:00 CEST, followed by Mouz and Virtus.Pro clash at
18:00 CEST. All the matches will be in best-of-three format, except the grand final, which will be a traditional best-of-five final.

With less than two weeks before The International, it will be interesting to see how the three
members of the prestigious tournament will perform, as it will offer useful information about their form and tactics.
