More details for Nexon Starter League released

Nexon Starter League will be kicking off on the 30th of June at Intel e-Stadium in Sindorim, Seoul. Over $15,000 in cash prize and TI3 tickets will be up for the overwhelming number of sign-ups to grab over the weekends.

The first details of the Nexon Starter League, a Dota 2 league for Koreans, have emerged and their starter league will feature 18 million Won and also entry tickets for The International 3 as spectators, up for grabs.

The offline qualifiers of the tournament will be one day events, starting with the 30th of June followed by the finals on the 7th of July. The tournament will be hosted in the Intel e-Stadium in Sindorim, Seoul.

We had a talk with Nexon regarding the tournament and they told us that the number of teams that have signed up for the tournament are overwhelming and beyond their initial expectations. No further details regarding the amount of teams participating have been spared and we don't know if MVP will debut their Dota 2 team in the league.

Many top international teams have also expressed their desire to play in the tournament but have been turned down because the registration of the tournament requires a Nexon ID, which requires a South Korean residents identification number to register. However, Nexon assured us that they have the international teams in mind and will probably extend invitations to overseas teams as time permits.

As for broadcasting rights, while it has been established that GomTV will be the official broadcaster of the NSL, an English coverage partner has not been announced.

"As your home for Asian Dota/Dota2 for the past couple of years, one of the few missed countries has been Korea. Soon that will all change," tweeted BeyondTheSummit, hinting at the possibility of themselves as the official English broadcasters of NSL.
