PGL announce HTC 2v2 Invitational

PGL announce the HTC 2v2 Invitational, feauting a $50,000 prize pool and double the trouble.

PGL, a prominent Romania-based tournament organiser, has announced the hosting of the HTC 2v2 Invitational, a follow-up on the highly successful and entertaining HTV 1v1 Invitational that took place in 2016. The strongest individual to emerge from last year's edition was none other than G2 Esports' Richard "shox" Papillon, who managed to overcome all of his opponents, in turn securing $10,000 in prize money.

This year's edition of the tournament will take place on Thursday, May 13th - Friday, May 14th at the PGL Studios in Bucharest, Romania. Format-wise we will see a double up from the previous iteration with a 2v2 setting. Not only has the format doubled, so has the prize pool, featuring a whopping $50,000 for grabs. Sixteen participants will be split into eight teams of two, pitted against each other in a bid to secure the lion's share of the substantial prize pool. 

The $50,000 prize pool will be distributed as follows:

1st place - $20,000
2nd place - $10,000
3rd & 4th places - $5,000
5th - 8th places - $2,500

In addition to announcing the event, the broadcasting talent has also been revealed. Hailing from the distant Australia will be ex-Renegades member, Chad "SpunJ" Burchill. Returning to the event will be the charismatic duo of Matthew "Sadokist" Trivett and Henry "HenryG" Greer. Hosting the aforementioned gentlemen will be popular YouTube content creator and on-air talent, Pala "Mantrousse" Gilroy Sen.
