ECS have announced the SSE Arena as the venue for the LAN finals of Season 3.
At last night's press conference, ECS announced that the SSE Arena, Wembley located in London, United Kingdom will serve as the venue for the LAN finals of Season 3. The $750,000 prize pool event will take place on June 23rd-25th, where the "crème de la crème" of CS:GO teams will face off in pursuit of securing first place at the tournament. This is not the first occasion ECS have opted to use the SSE Arena as a venue for their tournament, as ECS Season 1 was hosted in the very same arena, where we saw G2 Esports secure a whopping $250,000 in prize money after defeating
ex-Luminosity Gaming with a 2-0 map score.
Participants for the LAN finals are yet to be determined, as league play for both the European and North American regions will commence on Friday, April 14th and culminate on Thursday, June 8th. A total of twenty teams (ten from each region) will participate in the league, attempting to secure the best results possible. The top four strongest performing teams from each region will secure placements at the LAN finals, meanwhile teams that secure 5th-8th are locked in for Season 4; finally teams that are at the bottom, placed 9th and 10th will receive a slot in the ECS Promotion matches for Season 4.
