FaZe Clan have announced that their new fifth player will be mousesports' star player, Nikola "NiKo" Kovač.
Earlier in the week, North American organisation FaZe Clan announced that they had agreed to part ways with Philip "aizy" Aistrup, who has now been revealed to have signed with North, leaving the team with only four players in their starting roster. At the time, many speculated it would be former teammate Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom that would be taking the spot; however it appears that was not the case, as FaZe has issued an official announcement of their new fifth: Nikola "NiKo" Kovač
The young star, who until now had been playing for mousesports, was bought out of his contract with the team for a yet-undisclosed sum in order to bring him into FaZe. Kovač has consistently shown himself to be one of the top players in the world throughout his tenure with the German lineup, known for his agressive deagle play and pixel-perfect aim. Read his statement on the move to FaZe below:
FaZe Clan is a bit of a mystery to us hardcore eSports guys, and to finally look behind the curtain to see what this is all about has been absolutely refreshing. I'm sure you'll all see more of what I've seen over the course of the year. It'll be such as pure pleasure to go for the number one spot together with the team and see the organization grow. They're cool people, they got their heads in the right place, they know their position and they know what they need to do to move forward. Most importantly; all they care about is their people and their fans - that's what I love the most about all this. The passion for gaming and for eSports!”
With the addition of NiKo, FaZe Clan now consists of:
Nikola "NiKo" Kovač
Finn "karrigan" Andersen
Håvard "rain" Nygaard
Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey
Aleksi "allu" Jalli
