The South African eSports scene is making a move with their first CS:GO championship?.
It was announced today was African PC retailer, Evetech, will be hosting a CS:GO tournament by the name of "Evetech's Champions League" for four of the top teams from South Africa with a R150,000($10,288) prize pool. The championship will run from the 26th to the 28th of August in Centurion. The four teams that were announced to be competing will be Aperture Gaming, Bravado Gaming, Carbon eSports, and Energy eSports. These four invited teams will also be met by two teams which will compete for a spot in an Offline Qualifier.
Evetech's Managing Director, Imran Sorathia, had the following to say about the tournament:
The tournament's sponsor list includes big names such as Intel South Africa, MSI South Africa, SteelSeries, Crucial, Level-7 Wireless and Ballistix.
