Astralis add Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander as 5th at ESL One: Cologne 2016

Astralis have secured the services of Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander for ESL One: Cologne 2016, as Markus ‘Kjaerbye’ Kjærbye is ineligible to represent the team at the Major.

Astralis have announced that the team will be adding Denmark Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander to the roster prior to the ESL One: Cologne 2016 Major. This is mainly due to the fact recent addition Denmark Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye is ineligible to represent his new team, having won the recent European Minor Championship a.k.a DreamHack Tours 2016 with his previous roster, Team Dignitas. Rossander is being loaned to Astralis for the period of the major from Copenhagen Wolves, a respectable Danish team; however this will be the first time the twenty year-old will be representing a top 5 outfit. Despite that, the team have received him well and are looking forward to playing with Rossander.

Following is a statement from Team Captain, Denmark Finn "karrigan" Andersen:

I feel confident that gla1ve is the right fit for us. I know that he is good at adapting to new roles and he has a high skill ceiling. He will bring some experience to the table as well and if I know him right, he will do everything in his power, to show that he is still a top class player.

To get the best possible preparation with him, we have decided to take a bootcamp before the Major starts to integrate him in our team and play style. The overall goal for the Major is to secure the Top 8 position and Legends status for the next Major; everything beyond that is just icing on the cake. I hope our fans will understand the situation we are in and help support Lukas and us through the event!

Denmark Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander responded with:

It’s an amazing chance for me. I’ve been to several Majors before, but it has been a while since the last time and both Esport and CounterStrike have evolved amazingly since then. I’m like a kid in a candy shop [laughs]. I’m really honored to be picked out to play with these guys. I have played with Finn [karrigan] before, but I don’t know the other three guys, so I’m just looking forward to playing with them.

It was also mentioned that the team will be practicing with Rossander after the upcoming ECS Finals, followed by a bootcamp prior to the Major, taking place on July 8th-10th.
