The Electronic Sports League has announced that they will be hosting a CS:GO tournament featuring a $50,000 total prize pool.
The new season will feature three new leagues ranked by skill level, including free entry level Open League, the semi-pro Major League, and the professional level Pro League.
The highest level, the Pro League, will feature sixteen of the best teams all over Europe battling for a $48,000 total prize pool. The teams will be split into two groups of eight for the online group stage, where the top four teams from each group will advance to the offline group stage. Then, the top four teams from the offline group stage will secure a spot in the playoffs, and the top two teams from the playoffs will be allowed to compete in the grand finals.
The ESL Major League will feature 32 semi-pro teams battling for a small $2,000 chunk of the total prize pool. In this division the top four teams will receive $500 and the opportunity to advance to the Pro League.
The ESL Open League will be free for anyone to join, but will not have a prize pool. Instead, teams that top this division of the league will be given the chance to advance to the Major League.
The new season of the ESL League will begin on December 3, with qualifiers starting as early as November 8.
