Fnatic has secured a spot at the FACEIT Season 2 grand finals following a 2-0 victory over Virtus.pro
The second semi-finals started on de_inferno, where Fnatic were in control for the entire first half, winning an impressive 14 rounds compared to Virtus.pro's 1 round on the more favoured CT side. However, Virtus.pro managed to win the second pistol round and seemingly began a comback, until Fnatic finally shut them down at 14-8, ending the first map 16-8.
The second map was de_mirage, which is widely considered to be one of Virtus.pro's best maps. Starting on the less favoured T side of the map, the Polish team managed to pick up the first pistol round only to lose to an anti-eco force buy by Fnatic directly afterwards. Fnatic then proceeded to win four rounds in a row before Virtus.pro picked up one, as series of back and fourth round exchanges happened. The first half ended 10-5 for Fnatic. The second half saw Virtus.pro picking up two rounds in a row, before Fnatic finally took the map and match by winning six rounds in a row.
Fnatic will now battle iBuyPower at the grand finals for a $20,000 grand prize. This match will start tomorrow at 12.30 CET and will feature best-of-five series.
