The 27th season of BWCL has finished this past weekend, and although all scores are not final, xLo has assured their spot as the King of the BWCL mountain once again...
It's hard to image creating and successfully running a league for 27 whole seasons, but the BWCL staff has put together another great season filled with eleven weeks of intense action from an increasingly more difficult pool of teams. However, when all was said and done, xLo proved that they were stronger than the rest, taking home the gold with 53 points.
Although teams still have until this coming weekend to finish out their remaining postponed matches, nobody can take the top spot, but the 2nd and 3rd position are still up for grabs. Currently MYM who took the spot of the DkH, the champions of Season 26 resides in 2nd place with a few matches left to be played. In third place is the surprise of the season, faculty. Right on their tails and only one point behind is MgZ who still has a few matches left to be played, so come Sunday the final ranks can be changed slightly!
In the middle of the pack we can see the Russian powerhouse teams, 3D and aFz/pAq, the Polish threat, ZZZ, and the American based team, [LighT]. These teams all played well this season, but could not extinguish the fire of the teams surging at the top. Perhaps next season will be their time to shine.
Sadly, BWCL Division 1 must say goodbye to four teams each season, and this time is no different, as DiE, ]DK[, and CDS end their many seasons of tenure in the highest Division of BWCL. The last team to be demoted is none other than Fruchtzwege.

You can see how close the action really was this season as MYM, faculty, MgZ, and 3D are all within 4 poitns of each other. This truly was quite an exciting season! As the highest division of BWCL becomes even more competitive with stronger and stronger teams, this league truly will be able to boast showcasing the best of the best teams. Perhaps soon, every season of BWCL Division 1 will be just as great as their famous BWCL Premiere League.
Before closing, the new teams who will be entering Division 1 from Division 2 should be welcomed! Entering from Division 2A we have ScT and ash from Germany, and from Division 2B we have F2F from Hungary and IPS from Germany. Good luck to these four new teams, and to all teams fighting it out in this prestigious league!
