This Week's Brawl is: Mystery Heroes

The Brawl gamemode has changed its ruleset yet again, and the new brawl is called: Mystery Heroes.

Because of both the MOBA and shooter elements that Overwatch possesses, there are a lot of different factors that make up the gameplay. Clip size, projectile speed, cooldown length, hero kit; all these values and more are what create the balance in the game, and are thus very important. But what if you go crazy and just throw all balance overboard?

Well, that's what Blizzard has been doing in a lot of their games recently. Starting with Hearthstone´s Tavern Brawl, and now continued with Overwatch's own Brawl gamemode and Heroes of the Storm's upcoming Brawl, Blizzard is enabling environments in their games where the rules are made up and the points don't matter.

This week's Overwatch Brawl is called Mystery Heroes, and it is not the first time it has come up in rotation. This particular Brawl consists of the following rules:

  • Respawn as a random hero
  • No hero switching possible

Not a lot of theorycrafting can go into this ruleset, since you don't actually have a say in what you play. Because of how Ultimates work in Overwatch, you will lose all your progress every time you die. So the one tip we can give is: play a bit safer, so that you can slowly build up those game-changing Ultimates.

This specific Brawl will be in the game till the 11th of October, after which Blizzard will rotate in another set of rules for you to enjoy.
